on the bus next to me sat the strangest looking person I have ever seen. She carried a large shopping bag loaded with fireworks and another one with groceriesshe had long, red hair which stood up all over her head. her nails were pained purple nd green. she looked like she was over a hundred years old. She had a wart on her chin and the wart was covered with hairs. she stared straight ahad and did not say a word. her orange and green floor- length dress had long sleeves, but it was ripped and tattered.
Blizzards
A blizzard is different than a snowstorm because blizzards have very strong winds that blow over 35 miles per hour. Blizzards don’t always produce a lot of snow, but blowing snow makes it very hard to see. Blizzards can last up to 3 hours or more. Severe blizzard qualities: winds up to 45 miles per hour poor visibility, and temperatures that are ten degrees or below.
The First Typewriter
Before computers, people would type letters and other documents on
Typewriters. The first patient for a typewriter was granted on January 7,
1714. But it is years before the first typewriter was invented. In 1808,
Pellegrino Turri build the first typewriter for his friend, Countess Carolina
Fantoni da Fivizzano. He also invented carbon paper, which was used for
the machines ink. Not much is known about the first typewriter but people
can still read letters that the Countess typed on that typing mashune.
ELVIS PRESLEY
In the United States if you hear someone talking about The King their probably
talking about Elvis. Elvis Presley was known as the King of Rock and Roll. He was
born on January 8, 1935. Growing up, Elvis was shy but he loved to sing and play
Guitar. He sang in public for the first time and got his first guitar when he was ten.
When Elvis was in eighth grade his family moved to Memphis Tennessee. Elvis
got to learn a lot more about music and meet people in the music business.
Eventually, he got a record deal and became famous. Some of Elvis most popular
songs were “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Blue Suede Shoes.”
Joan of Arc
Every January, New Orleans holds a parade called the Krewe de Jeanne d’ Arc. The parade celebrates Joan of Arc a woman who fought with French Troups during the Hundred Years’ War Joan was only 17 years old She was also a woman. Women were not allowed to be soilders but Joan was special. She said she heard the voices of saints. Those voices told her God was commanding her to fight. Joan helped lead the French to victory but she was captured by the English. They found her guilty of witchcraft and disobedience to the church. She was burned at the stake in 1431.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane !no, it’s a flying boat airplane! The first commercial
airplane flight was actually a flying boat. It happen in January 1914. A
former Mayor of St Petersburg Florida, paid 400 to fly from St. Petersburg
to Tampa. The 18mile trip took only 23 minutes by plane. Traveling the
same distance by ship would of taken over two hours. Since the flight was
successful, plane trips across the Tampa Buy became popular. Passengers
paid $five each way to take a trip on the special boat plane.

MOUNT RUSHMORE
Have you been to Mount Rushmore? Sixty-foot-tall faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln are carved into Mount Rushmore’s stone hills. When sculptor Gutzon Borglum first saw Mount Rushmore, he said “America will march al0ng that skyline.” Borglum began work in 1927, but he died before the work was finished. The work was completed by his son, Lincoln , on October 31, 1941.
The Blob
The Blob is one of those movies Hollywood Dogs keep remaking every few years. The main character is a huge blue lump of pulsating broccoli pasta that wants to become the first disgusting mayor of the city of Calgary. It was created by a scientist, played by Ryan Reynolds. The scientist accidentally dropped some Bug juice into a dish full of tacos. the food immediately started pulsating and eventually grew to be the size of an white board….
